Baptism
In baptism, we are all told that the relation with God is personal and given to each of us, all for nothing!
In the baptism an adult or child is welcomed into the family of the church, and not least into relation with God and faith. Anyone who has not yet been baptised is heartily welcome to have a talk about baptism.
The Danish National Church celebrates child baptism as part of our theology that we are baptised into God's loving forgiveness and eternal life from birth.
We have baptisms as part of our Sunday Services as well as special baptism services primarily on Saturdays. The Sunday Service baptism is a baptism as part of the life of the congregation. We are a very friendly community, so no need to worry about being part of the Sunday Service.
Also, if you have traditions associated with baptism from your home country, we have in the past found ways to incorporate that into the service, as well as having the Apostolic Creed -- upon which we baptise -- in several languages.
There is no charge for a baptism service: it is a gift of love and acceptance from a generous God. The baptism certificate will be in English and Danish.
If you have further questions, please contact pastor Maria at mabf@km.dk, and she will provide more information.
