Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an American tradition, but giving thanks is the pivotal moment of us all… Knowing that the beginning of everything is knowing that you received the most important things: Life, love, knowledge, relationships and community – You can newer create them on your own, but you can support them, nourish them and pay attention to them and watch them grow – starting exactly with giving thanks – Thanksgiving.

The American tradition of Thanksgiving is a tradition of giving thanks for being able to live together as migrants and nationals. At Folkekirken for Internationals we would like to celebrate the many internationals in Copenhagen, who have chosen to live here with a particular emphasis on the joys of Copenhagen living, and the gifts which the internationals brings to the Copenhagen area.

We enjoy a traditional homecooked Thanksgiving meal, share our migration stories with each other. We end the evening by singing together – there got to be some Danish elements into an otherwise very international tradition.

When and where?

Thanksgiving is always the last Thursday in November, we will publish on the website, Social Media and advertise at Eliaskirken. It is mandatory to sign up, and the tickets tends to be sold out swiftly once we open for sales.
