Christmas
Chrismas is the greatest celebration in Western Christian Culture – celebrating the turning of times, lighting a candle in the darkness – We are celebrating that God stepped down from his heaven and into our everyday life. That God is not just the majesty of everything, but exposed, vulnerable and relationally connected with us.
Christmas at Folkekirken for Internationals brings together traditions, community, and the good news of the Gospel.

We begin preparing on the Friday before the first Sunday of Advent with glögg (Christmas punch) and æbleskiver (dough balls) at Vesterbros Torv, where Christmas lights are lit, and Vesterbro Gospel Choir or The New International Choir gives a small Christmas concert on the square outside the church.

Our Christmas celebrations continue through Sunday Services throughout Advent, 9 Readings, carols and family activities – this continues right on to Epiphany. We are a home for both lifelong Christians and those new to church, making Christmas relevant for everyone in our international community.
There will be numerous activities in English throughout Copenhagen churches during December — in addition to those at Eliaskirken, Vesterbrogade 49, 1620 København V.
